Howard Jones is a British musician, singer and songwriter. A pioneering figure in electronic music and classically-trained pianist, his career spans over four decades, marked by innovation, longevity, and a deep connection with audiences worldwide. Emerging onto the music scene in 1983 with his breakout hit “New Song,” showcasing his signature blend of thoughtful songwriting with groundbreaking synthesizer-driven pop. His debut album, Human’s Lib, reached No. 1 in the UK featuring hits, “What Is Love?” and “New Song.”
His follow-up album, Dream Into Action, became a multi-platinum success in the USA, generating global hits such as “Things Can Only Get Better,” “Like To Get To Know You Well,” and the enduring classic “No One Is To Blame.” Jones has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
In addition to his studio success, Jones is a dynamic live performer, touring the world in multiple formats; from intimate solo shows on piano to full-band, high-tech productions. His music has continued to resonate across generations, featuring prominently in major films and TV series such as Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, and Watchmen.
Howard Jones continues to create new music. Piano Composed (2025), is his third piano release following Piano Solos Vol. 1 and Piano Solos Vol. 2. Piano Composed (released in two different editions) was created during lockdown on his Steinway D piano which subsequently became Piano Composed Ivory. Piano Composed Spirio features the tracks reimagined via Jones’ Steinway Spirio, which allowed him to add multiple octaves and create pieces that couldn’t be played without five or six hands. The result is an evolution of the original pieces.
In 2025, Jones celebrates two major milestones: the 40th anniversary of Dream Into Action with a global tour, and the anniversary of his performance at Live Aid, underscoring a legacy that is both timeless and continually evolving.
